Dr Rica Viljoen
Dr Rica Viljoen is the Managing Director of Mandala Consulting Pty Ltd, a niche organisational development practice that was formed in 2003. The focus of the practice is on optimising individual, group and organisational behaviour in multicultural settings in various industries. Her corporate career was in strategic human resources in Absa Bank.
Rica’s doctorate thesis focused on Sustainable Organisational Transformation through Inclusivity. The study was acknowledged as one of the 10 most promising contributions to the field of Management, Spirituality, and Religion by the Academy of Management in 2008. She further received two further Academy of Management awards.
Rica developed the Benchmark of Engagement (BeQ), a tool that describes the human energy in systems to perform. So far, this research was conducted in 42 different countries with over 50 000 participants. In 2017, Rica has been awarded the CEO award for her contribution to the field of study nationally and internationally by the Institute of Personal Management (IBP) for which she also acted as ambassador.
She is an adjunct faculty member of the Henley Business School in South Africa of Reading University. Before that, she was associated with the Da Vinci Institute for Innovation and Technology and a senior research fellow at the University of Johannesburg.
Rica is the founder member of the African Centre of Human Emergence. She works closely with Dr Don Beck and dr Loraine Laubscher; and the various international Centres for Human Emergence to study geopolitical trends and how it impacts people and the organisations they form. She has published books on organisational change and development, spiral dynamics and co-determination. Further, various academic chapters and articles were published.
She expresses the passion of ensuring that untold stories, especially in oral traditions, find its way into mainstream academia and publications.
